This beyond resonates, which I’m sure does not surprise you.

I really loved how you explained the difference between relief from pain and actual pleasure. I don't think we always recognize the difference, especially when relief itself can feel so good. I also found your idea of pride as the beginning of a progression toward gratitude, satisfaction, and eventually contentment fascinating. The thought that fear and shame can protect us from pain while simultaneously limiting our ability to fully experience what is good adds another layer to it. Incredible piece!

Well written. I wonder how, with the additives of substances that potentially alter our state of self, how much is real pleasure, or indulged, somewhat fake. I don't drink alcohol, not for a long time anyway, and can't complete connect with this perspective. I often consider though, how much of our emotions or feelings are ours, during these indulgences.. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Steve.

Good question indeed. I think there are many ways to alter consciousness. I think all are valid up to a point - if they help us see things with clarity upon reflection.

What is truly ours? Also a great question. Will give this one some more thought.

Thanks for interacting šŸ™šŸ¾

It's very interesting. Processing and reflecting on available information is necessary for clarity.. There's lots in this subject.
